Do you not trust me? Do you require me to say everything under oath or worse? We have already discussed this. I was not lying then, although you seem to need me to remind you of that.

I'm not going to say I'm blameless in this, but neither are you. You know how these sort of things are horrible, and yeah something had a hold of me that day, but I meant what I said. You never explained how you weren't hiding it and let's be honest, when it looks like you've been going behind my back it's rather hard to trust you completely. Trust isn't something that just comes back on it's own, Cesare, you've got to earn it or prove that I shouldn't have mistrusted you in the first place.

I am here, speaking candidly in the open with you, because as wrong as you are about many things, there is at least one I agree with you on. I recognize that I have lost your trust and for that I truly am sorry. For most subjects you were a fine teacher and you have been very patient with me. You are a good person, Shaun, and I have put you through much. Perhaps I even took advantage of you, although not in the way you are afraid of.

As for your concerns, I do not feel that I have done anything wrong, save for allow the situation to grow out of hand. I have made an effort to listen to you and to take your concerns to heart.

I told you not to because the debt had been paid. I told Altaïr not to because I was worried it would simply incite him to press further.

It still upsets me you know. Even if the debt's been paid it was done rather underhandedly. The fact that you don't think it's underhanded is what worries me.

But before that, what did you mean by Altair? you also brought up that he'd asked you a question.

Tell me. How is it any different from what you wanted to do? I was hurt, both you and Spain found out on your own, without my telling you. You both learned who did it and came to the same conclusion about how to handle it.
