Camp AU Event

[Very late in the week of the AU event, (college!)Cesare has gone in search of (future!)Alvis. Some of the novelty of this strange zombie summer camp has worn off but he remembers her vanship and just how exhilarating that was. Besides, she is company who isn't a) his actual professor or b) his not actual(?) brother. It's a nice clear day. A day for adventure.]

Alvis! You don't have plans, do you? [hope you are okay with this kid confidently inserting himself into them]

[not even close! Delighted laughter as she puts the vanship through its paces, relishing the feel of the speed. In any incarnation Cesare tends towards adrenaline junkie.]

[Dodging trees and they pop out over the cliff. She angles the nose of the vanship down, into a dive, grinning widely]

Ah--! [shout of laughter, leaning forward and grabbing the back of her seat with one hand and her shoulder with the other]

[Pulling up a little earlier than she would if she was flying solo... No desire to whiplash or eject the poor guy.]

[maleborgia]

[squeezing her shoulder]

Do that again!

[Laughing happily and she takes them a mile or so out to sea before turning the vanship around]

Reeeeady?

[Full speed back towards the cliff f ace]

[maleborgia]

Re-- [the word is snatched out of his mouth once they start to speed back to the cliffs]

[You'd better hold on, Cesare. They're going straight for the cliff before it's a sharp vertical climb! Alvis leans forward, pushing the vanship]

[maleborgia]

[gripping tightly, rather more so than he'll admit to later, breathless and flushed at the ride]

[They crest and she kills the speed, letting the aircraft slowly descend while she laughs]

[maleborgia]

[stands up (mostly) carefully, laughing with her] That was fantastic! [still giddy and exuberant, he half bends down, half leans over, and kisses her on the hairline just above her forehead]

[Grinning and she pulls him down to kiss his cheek. Woo, adrenaline! It's a lot of fun to go flying with someone who shares her excitement over it]

Come on, let's make one more pass and then find something to eat. We deserve it.

[maleborgia]

[grinning as well at the kiss back and sits down, getting his phone out] Right. I'm going to record this, so make it the best one yet. I want no one to believe this happened until they see the footage, including me.

[Stretching her arms and she shakes herself off]

The best one yet... No problem. You'd better put on your seatbelt~

[buckling up]

I'm ready. [turning the camera on already]

[Alright, it's go time. Alvis hits the throttle and they go rocketing back towards the cliffs and ocean. However this time, instead of immediately diving, Alvis overshoots and then the nose of the vanship tips up... Climbing higher and higher and she begins a tight spiral before finally reaching the summit. They tip backwards and freefall until the craft is vertical and Alvis guns it into a dive. They meet up with the cliff face once more as it rushes by in a blur, the water meeting them in just a few seconds. Alvis lets off the accelerator long before and, mindful of not her passenger's safety, she pulls up well before reaching the water. They skim along the surface once they're righted, kicking up a wake behind them]

[Cesare will later deny that the shout heard in the background when they start to freefall is from him--or at least that it was partially an automatic expression of panic--, but the rest of the footage is glorious, if jerky, and he twists around to get a shot of the wake as well, swearing loudly]

[A quick glance back when she hears the shout, just to make sure he's still inside, but otherwise Alvis lets him enjoy it. It's an easy going flight back to the beach and Camp, with her grinning the entire time]

[he stops recording only once the vanship comes to a halt and then the phone is gone and he is unbuckling his seatbelt and standing in great excitement to talk to her over the top of her seat]

That was fantastic! Ha! No roller coaster could ever compare! Is that the sort of thing they teach their children learning to fly where you are from? You must have nerves of steel!

[Turning a little so he's not looming over her]

Ehehe, I think it depends on your instructors. Mine may have been a special case.

Ah, no no... My nerves are far from steel. It's just that I love flying so much -- being up in the wide, open sky where absolutely everything is peaceful and you can do whatever you'd like... To me, it's perfect.

[leaning back a little and looking up]

I can see why you think so. That freedom... It's exhilarating.

Was that a good enough second look at this place?

[maleborgia]

It was perfect. [discarding the helmet and goggles, hopping out of the vanship and extending his hand for her] Let me repay you somehow.

[keytoexilellence]

[Out she goes! Alvis doesn't exactly need the help down but it is very nice of him and she accepts anyway]

I AM hungry...

[maleborgia]

[back to holding her hand as they walk back towards the buildings]

It's too bad the selection here isn't very impressive. I can at least offer you a nicer setting to eat in than the mess hall.
