Camp AU Event

[Very late in the week of the AU event, (college!)Cesare has gone in search of (future!)Alvis. Some of the novelty of this strange zombie summer camp has worn off but he remembers her vanship and just how exhilarating that was. Besides, she is company who isn't a) his actual professor or b) his not actual(?) brother. It's a nice clear day. A day for adventure.]

Alvis! You don't have plans, do you? [hope you are okay with this kid confidently inserting himself into them]

Have other people seemed to feel otherwise? I haven't spoken with anyone about it.

Some people are very distressed over it while others seem... resigned.

[maleborgia]

I like your way of handling it. I don't think we should resign ourselves to anything, but at the same time it seems a little premature to panic.

[keytoexilellence]

Things very easily could have gone differently, I think. Nearly everyone has been very nice and helpful -- plus it's been nice to be able to share flying with someone who's so excited about it. Thank you. I know it's a temporary but it means a lot.

[maleborgia]

[shakes his head] I should be the one thanking you. I wasn't giving false praise. It really has been fantastic.

Then we've helped each other! Even better.

[heading over to the back, looking around for portable things, smiles] Even better.

You said you were adopted? Do you have other siblings or cousins or are you the only one in your generation?

[keytoexilellence]

It's a bit complicated... But I'm considered the youngest of my generation, as you put it. Those who were my guardians are perhaps more of siblings now... We are only five years apart at the eldest of us.

[Trailing along, letting him pick whatever he'd like for them]

I see. I'm six years older than my younger sister. She is a... [laughs] she is a sweet girl but I look forward to seeing the force she will grow into. I'm sure they felt similarly about you.

[Smiling] That's a very nice way to put it. One part hopeful gentle breeze, two parts accidental wrecking ball...

[maleborgia]

[putting together a couple of sandwiches]

Are you describing yourself now? After that flight I think I would characterize you more like a hurricane than a breeze.

Ah... So much for the hopeful part.

[maleborgia]

It's too bad she isn't here. She would adore you. [pauses in this preparation to take out his phone again and find her a picture of a pre-teen Lucrezia standing on the deck of a ferry and smiling at the camera. She is trying to pose older than she actually is, but the effect is somewhat ruined by her long blonde hair blowing across her face by the wind and the cute animal keychain on her backpack]

[Oh no, young people HER ONE WEAKNESS (after food, adventure, flying, etc)]

She's lovely! What's her name...?

Lucrezia. She just turned thirteen in April.

[keytoexilellence]

Thirteen... [thinking back to when she was that age]

It's a very pretty name. You're lucky to have each other and I wish you both the best.

She tells me that I am lucky to have her as well. Did anyone tell you that time does not flow the same here as it does back where we are all from? The surest reason I have to believe that is that she has not tried to contact me once since I arrived.

Contact? Ah! Are you able to contact HER?

[maleborgia]

I'm not sure. I did try to text her a couple of times because if anyone would write me back it would be her. I don't know if they actually went through.

Ah, I see... I was sure you'd probably tried but had to check anyway. I suppose that means I'm more concerned than I thought.

[She's found the picnic basket and begins to pack the food inside]

Have you tried to contact anyone? I don't know if you can try to radio someone back in your world, or...

[She puts a hand over the necklace under her top but shakes her head]

Nothing yet. It seems we're in this dream a bit longer.

[maleborgia]

[curious look] What were you trying?

[keytoexilellence]

To reach someone from home but they didn't answer either. He always answers, as well.
