IC: Boar Hunting

*Camp's a farm, right? And you know what farms have? Pigs.

The ones in Camp are a little... different from the cute, not-by-the-hair-on-my-chinney-chin-chin ones some of you might be more familiar with, however...

One way or another, it's clearly the time for a boar hunt. Clearly. And somewhere away from the center of Camp are two people on horses looking to do just that.*

[Stop short and looks up at the horses - who are likely none too pleased by the presence of a wolf. Horses generally aren't.] Not that it's your business, but I'm hunting. Maybe you've missed it, but most of camp is eating hay right now, and for some reason, I don't find that thought appetizing.

[Yep, that's definitely Fenris. Can't be more than a couple people around with that voice.]

Large pig with a hat? Something out of prehistory even?

*slightly distracted by the wolf plus horse scenario, but...*

There were hunting dogs following it as well, but they vanished somewhere over here by the time we came around to have a look.

The trail does smell like pig. But if you thought it was wearing a hat, I should be irritated with you for hitting the bar and not inviting me. And does your friend know you've been drinking and riding?

As much as he may appear otherwise, Shaun is still rather a novice rider. If he had been imbibing so much, I doubt we would have made it even this far.

[Fenris' eyes narrow just a bit at the distinctly Antivan-style name.] Were the two of you hunting it as well?

Yeah, I don't want it getting a hold of a camper. It's bigger than the horses, and about twice as foul-tempered as Cesare's.

That sounds as though it ought to be a slight challenge. And more than enough for myself and Hawke, even with her back to human and eating more than a squirrel or two.

If you'd like to come along, it would be a shame to waste any of the meat.

My name is Cesare Borgia and this is Shaun Hastings. We have only just met up with your friend.

They are hunting the same beast as us, Hawke. I invited them to join us. Shaun is glad for the extra firepower, he was saying.

Just noticing, you don't happen to have a horse on you anywhere, do you? We didn't really think about bringing another one along.

Unfortunately, no. I wish I could say that I can conjure a horse out of thin air, but I'm afraid that level of magic is beyond my abilities.

It would be beyond the magic of anyone. Unless the horse were demonic, summoned from the Fade.

The Fade?

The Fade is the realm of spirits and demons. People from our world tend to wander there when they dream, although dwarves are an exception, and mages like myself are able to channel power from the Fade to perform our spells.

...although I'll have to admit. I'm a little disappointed that not even the magisters of Tevinter can conjure things out of thin air. Well... anything other than demons, that is.
