Cesare hit 20k on Dreamwidth, or a little over 30k overall. I've never had a character break the latter and previously would always burn out on them at the former, so this is pretty exciting for me! ♥ In honor of that, a meme!

I think for the most part, because Felix isn't QUITE as pissed at Juan as he used to be, he's slightly less wary of Cesare by extension. It's still true that his view of Cesare is more than a little colored by the association, but he's begun to separate them a little bit. Cesare still strikes him as the more mature one (and I mean, I guess technically Cesare and Juan are getting to be the same age, except that Felix actually thinks Juan is at least 5 or so years older than he really is. The facial hair is deceptive.) and he does appreciate that. Also, he's clearly intelligent and curious, and Felix really likes that in a person. He actually does not mind talking to him at all.

Likewise, Tiny!Cesare's curiosity is adorable. Not that he would...put it that way. But it's cute.

What is Cesare's favorite thing about Camp?

(Also, I am almost, ALMOST trained to read Cesare's name in my head the Italian way now. Although when I was writing this I realized I was pronouncing it 'Seh-zar-eh')

For all that Cesare complains about Camp imposing its will on people--and it does really genuinely bother him that he can't go beyond whatever arbitrary point the barrier is at--, he feels so much freer here than he does back home. At home he is always being supervised, even if he's not always being told what to do, and there's just no getting away from it. I don't think there's a single scene in canon where he's truly alone for more than a matter of minutes. There's always a guard at the door or down the hall or generally waiting just out of sight. He knows it and he hates it. In Camp even if there are people around they're not necessarily watching him and he is hardly the most noteworthy person here. When he first arrived, someone tried to rile him up by pointing out that no one knew him and he couldn't boss anyone around, but he's willing to make that trade. Sure, he gets frustrated a lot by how much more efficiently he could get things done back in Italy, but at the end of the day it's worth it when he can go out to the stables and get on his horse and very literally get lost.

Cesare also really likes how much time Camp has given him to sort through things and try to come up with a better plan (and a better one, and a better one, and...). He spends a lot of time in the library or just thinking about home and trying to work out what he should do. Normally he would consider taking anywhere near this long a waste, but it's not like time is passing back home, so. It's a real luxury, and it allows him to also study things that he wouldn't be able to otherwise. He's very very appreciative of that and he is quick to point it out to people.

If you could get one canonmate for Felix!

OH GOSH, UM. It's really hard to choose just one, and I probably should say Gaius Baltar, the genius scientist who was the first person to really set Felix on a course for cynicism - BAD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN PEOPLE BETRAY YOUR FAITH -, because it would provide a lot of drama and also possibly character growth. But honestly?

I think what would really be great for Felix is someone from home that he trusts. So I'm going to say Anastasia Dualla ("Dee"), who is pretty much his best friend. (And...almost only friend, by the time he dies.) There would be some, uh, plot-related drama to get over, but once that happened, it would just be really good for him to have her around. He cares about her, she cares about him, and she's pretty decent about pulling him out of his bad moods. Plus, Dee's a great character. She's strong in a very quiet way, and she's also fun and friendly.

What would you say is your character type?

My character type is not actually Cesare. I tend to go for characters who are genuinely good people and for whom that is pretty obvious. They're nice, funny, tend to be the (sometimes-put-upon-) best-friend-to-the-hero sort of person. In the past (Camp and not) I played Duo from Gundam Wing and Nowaki from Junjou Romantica, so... (Of course I played some outliers, too. I once apped Gollum for the hell of it.) I've said it before, but I initially was thinking of apping Miguel instead of Cesare because I was really attracted to his role as Cesare's shadow and the tension in their friendship. Cesare is the first main character I've played and also the first one who toys as much as he does with the line between moral and immoral.

Favorite 5 icons of Felix'?

- Look how happy and cute he is. I'm so glad Alvis is around so he sometimes gets to use this icon now. (ironically the context is that he's about to confront Dee about some under-the-table stuff that he thinks she's doing)
- Mmm sarcasm-face.
- So cute.
- NOT AS POSITIVE, but I just really like the lighting and composition. Also. This scene is good.
- This is terribly wrong of me, but sometimes Felix wears distress really well. Uh.

This is my favorite of Cesare's serious icons and I don't get to use it too much because I save it for the really good bits. (Problems of having a ridiculous amount of icons.)

Actually my favorite icons are always changing (I go through phases when tagging where I'll favor one or another) because I have so many, hahaha... I am very fond of the one I used for this comment as well, because how many people have an icon of their character dodging a blow from Columbus? NOT MANY, I BET. He's just being an ass in it and it's fun to use. :)
