I meant to do this when Cesare hit 5k, but I didn't feel like it at the time. So 6k Anything Goes meme! I also play Kusama Nowaki, so please let me talk at you about him, too. ♥
ASK A QUESTION it can be anything CFUD related, OOC, IC, First Impressions, Relationship, psychology, thoughts, whatever. i.e. My character's opinion of your character or maybe what you have been wondering about this behavior or that, or general thoughts on my characters or canons or whatever drabbles and pics, what have you, etc.
When I reply I will also ask you a question in turn!

Also because this thread is going on atm, Cindy really doesn't need to feel bad about mistletoeing the teenager. :|b Cesare's using the mistletoe as an excuse to kiss the pretty girls. Cindy's a bit, um, older than he's been aiming, but still FAR better than some of the other threads he got stuck in. No complaints, really! He's just trying to come off well in this, since they are on a more friendly level already and it could be taken the wrong way. :|a
And Nowaki still likes Tiffany. :D He enjoys talking to her and is pretty comfortable explaining things to her because she seems so mature. She can handle it! Honestly, he respects her because of how she has been conducting herself and because of her obvious interest in expanding her medical knowledge. She is more than welcome to follow him around the hospital whenever she would like. :)

Cindy thinks that Cesare is an intelligent teenager. He's obviously of the nobility and well-educated for a man from this time. There's enough confidence in him that indicates that he's been groomed for leadership. Having a title and being a high-ranking member of the clergy would probably mean a lot more in the past and if Cindy ever looks up the history of his time, she'd realise that he's one of those Borgias. In the meantime, she is okay with a casual friendship. Also, there's the post-kiss realisation that he might be a bit of a player too.
Tiffany is still a teenager! And she likes having someone around to explain things about the modern world because that's rather like the travelling teachers' from her world. She's glad that there are actually competent adults around. If Nowaki thinks that there are more competent and senior doctors around, she's honestly relieved because the illnesses might be different in different world. Tiffany tries to learn new things no matter how awkward the situation is. Apologies in advance if you see a teenager writing notes out of the corner of your eye during mistletoe season.
Cesare's top ten list of people he is trying to snog?
no subject
1) Female
2) Approximately his age (several years older is preferable to several years younger because sob that hits prepubescent FAST)
3) blonde is preferable but it's really not a big thing
4) He's kind of short. Too much taller than him starts to get weird. :|a
5) spunky is good. he likes people showing spirit.
6) intelligent, open minded--obvious lack of either of these is a big turn off
7) not an obvious threat. it's hard to get too into the kiss if you're worried about poison or shanking.
8) "traditional" femininity isn't needed, but she needs to be comfortable with her sexuality
9) general physical beauty is kind of a big one, but I'm too lazy to really get into what this means for him
10) a proper degree of self-esteem is also important. he's not going to respect someone who doesn't respect themselves.
So have Cindy and Tiffany met in Camp? What do/would they think of each other?
no subject
They have! Briefly because Brianna is Tiffany's roommate and they met that time when Cindy walked Brianna back to ZEX's ship. They don't trust each other at all. Tiffany is brown-haired and ordinary looking--so she has negative impressions of pretty blonds. Cindy knows that dealing with witches is a tricky business and this isn't even a witch on her side. All this without even talking to each other. If I ever self-cest . . . who knows?
What would Cesare think if he ever found out one of Cindy's secrets?
no subject
Her modern job would actually get more of a reaction from him although he would consider it less important. More immediately pressing, perhaps, since it would move her into a different level of dangerous, but less important overall. Either way chances are good that he would not mention it to her even if he found out.
And in exchange, what would Cindy think if she ever did look up Borgia history?

Pimp Cesare's/Nowaki's canon?
1/2 (Junjou Romantica)
Basically it's three interconnected stories about three m/m couples, one of which is Hiro and Nowaki. :)
If Hiro and Nowaki are the pretty-much-married, extreme tsun/dere pair, then the other two couples are... well, even more special, tbh. WHY ARE THE VANILLA ONES IN CAMP? This chart kind of sums it up! As you can see, that 24 v. 28 age difference between Hiro and Nowaki is nothing in comparison to those other two (18 and 35 sob!). It's pretty mindless, which was part of the initial draw for me, actually! It's very easy to get into and you can pick up and read the individual story lines on their own without any problem (the chapters are labeled by which couple is getting the attention: Romatica, Egoist, or Terrorist). As a warning, the series is very NSFW, with... well, I'm pretty sure every chapter eventually involves some man-on-man action. :|a As with many things in this genre, there are parts that toy with the noncon line, but the series itself as very big on the Happy Ending and if you just want to read/watch something that doesn't require thinking or worry about the possibility of a Bad End but does include pretty men doing things to each other and minor romcom drama, I would recommend this. :)b
Scans are here and the anime is here. (No guarantees about the quality of that second link, though, as I really only looked at the manga.)
Here, have three more pictures. And I just want you to know that I put in the extra time to weed out all the sexing screenshots/scans sob
2/2 (Cesare)
Cesare
As the title implies, it follows Cesare Borgia. :)b Unusually, however, it focuses on him as a teenager instead of an adult, opening in 1491 when he is still attending university in Pisa and before his father becomes Pope. I... actually like this more because this is a pretty big chunk of time when there's no real anything in the historical record about what he was getting up to. The story itself is clearly dramatized for the purposes of being a good read, but it does a very good job of hitting several important issues and ideas from the time period, and it makes a real effort to be faithful to the era.
Here to the end of the chapter (like five pages, I think?) is a good sample of the other two main characters, Miguel (the protector) and Angelo (the puppy). I adore Miguel. I don't even know what to say to pimp this other than that Miguel is magical and amazing and much more nuanced than he appears at first. This is actually true of all of them, even Angelo who is just SO DENSE at the start. (S-seriously, you can just go and skip the first three chapters if they are too Angelo-centric. He gets better after that.)
All the historical setting and such aside, this is basically a story about three boys trying to make sense of the world around them. One of them is caught between high ideals and an upbringing that is teaching him to be absolutely ruthless, one of them has found a purpose in life but is also deeply jaded, and one of them is still very much an innocent and has found himself pushed into an entanglement much bigger than he is.
OH YEAH, pimp or at least explain your two canons to me! I know absolutely nothing about either of them apart from what I've heard the characters say in threads. :)

Discworld: It's about a world that is flat and sits on the backs of four elephants standing on the back of a space turtle--this should give you an idea of what it's like. Everything is a mirror of stuff happening on Earth, so there are books about the post office, about musicals, the Da Vinci Code, Shakespeare, etc. Only in parody form.
The Tiffany Aching series can be summed up as: The Girl Has Too Many Stalkers. Or Not-Harry-Potter-Thank-You-Very-Much.
The Wee Free Men: Tiffany goes up against the Fairy Queen because that bitch snatched her younger brother. She's nine years old. This is when she meets the Nac Mac Feegle--they're basically the Smurfs crossed with the Picts. This means that she has acquired several hundred little blue men in kilts who like to drink and steal sheep as stalkers.
A Hat Full of Sky: Tiffany goes away to learn to be a witch, but she gets possessed by the Hiver--an eldritch entity from the dawn of time--and almost does very bad things because she's only eleven and came down with a serious case of the stupid/teenage angst at one point.
Wintersmith: Tiffany is thirteen and is infected with a really serious case of teenage stupidity resulting in her getting between Winter and Summer. Everything almost dies because the Wintersmith wanted to marry her and bring about eternal winter. Also a very clever and polite metaphor for a girl hitting puberty.
I Shall Wear Midnight: Tiffany has to battle the Cunning Man who has been looking for her ever since she kissed the Wintersmith to death two years ago. Her life will probably be filled with cleaning up after herself because what she did in the last book attracted a lot of attention from all the wrong places. And she has functional hormones and official relationships too now.

Fables is about a bunch of refugees who happen to be fairytale characters from a hundred different worlds (the Homelands). Only you don't know if they inspired the fairytales or they're the fairytales brought to life.
The creator is a bit of a Conservative, but you can ignore his ranting most of the time and concentrate on the story. The Fable community is a big secret because they were hiding from the Adversary and the normal humans (Mundanes) Cindy is Fabletown's only off-the-books agent who masquerades as a bitchy shoe-seller but is actually a super-spy with 200 years of shady business under her belt. She's the one who gets sent out if something threatens Fabletown's security. She's James Bond and Jack Bauer with tits! Meaning that she can use sex in her line of work--damn you, double standards.
Prince Charming had three wives--they're all awesome ladies despite occasionally suffering from plot. Snow White was Deputy Mayor until she had kids. Sleeping Beauty is a secret weapon who sacrificed herself to put the Adversary's capital city to sleep. Cinderella serves her community by kicking ass all over the world and back in the Homelands. Maybe Charming felt bad about it in the end, because he finally stepped up and did something awesome during the battle with the Adversary's Empire.
But they're not safe yet and still nowhere near their goal of reclaiming the Homelands as of issue #100. And the story goes on . . .
Cesares' extra special Camp relationships?

One person Cindy/Tiffany most want in Camp?
no subject
But if it wasn't a matter of competency or missing time . . .
Cindy would like someone to update her on what's going on at home. Maybe Bigby since he was wandering around in the Mundy in search of a potential new home for the Fables. Also, she'd need him to back her up for the whole "it's not so much spilling secrets as Camp spilling them for you" thing because there are strict rules about that.
Tiffany would like to see how Granny Weatherwax deals with Camp, just out of curiosity. And she would be looking for a convenient haystack to duck behind when Granny goes ballistic.
Reverse for Cesare?

Why were you attracted to playing Cindy?

somelots of fun along the way. She's more committed to her job than any relationship.Cindy is very fun to play because she can act nice and charming while being a complete hardass while on the job. She can also annoy people intensely--seriously, I need to play that out more.
Why does Nowaki want to be a doctor?

How do your characters spend a typical day in Camp?
no subject
Cindy: Sleeps for three to six hours before getting up and sneaking around, may go for a morning ride around Camp before breakfast, deposit scraps for the stable mice she's been getting to know, look in on the pushcart, not-work while keeping an eye on things, talk to people she knows or doesn't know, eat lunch, not-work some more while on the laptop reading the news and catching up on fashion, evening jog around Camp before dinner, may visit the bar for a drink, write a few more emails to the Director/her suppliers/home even though it might not work, maybe sneak around some more . . . when she goes to bed is a mystery and staggered in no fixed pattern.

Cesare's schedule is more dependent on the day of the week. On Sundays he gets up early and goes to the chapel for an hour or so. Actually, he does this in the morning many days. Tues-Thurs he is now working in the library for three hours in the middle of the day. He has lessons with Shaun scheduled in there somewhere, too... These obligations aside, one can assume that he wakes after 4-7 hours of sleep and goes to the chapel and to tend to Romulus. He goes to the library and for a ride, although the order and duration of these changes depending on his mood. Breakfast is typically grabbed from the kitchen in the consulate. Lunch comes from there or the messhall. If he is done with these things after lunch he talks to people (or bothers Shaun or makes out with Rue, sometimes all three). Dinner is again either at the messhall or the consulate and he then stays up late because all the research needs to be done and also Camp is so tempting to explore. \o\;
What are Tiffany and Cindy's rooms at Camp like?
no subject
Cindy lives in the UN cabin. She has done it up very nicely to give the impression that the person who lives in it is a normal, stylish woman who organizes her shoes in clear plastic boxes and takes care of her clothes. It looks comfortable enough and even has Tuesday's food rations stored under the bed. Her bed looks fairly neat most of the time because she seldom sleeps in it. There's a locked drawer in the wardrobe that contains some cash, the last passport she was using before she got to Camp and a few bits of jewellery--i.e. completely unimportant but normal items. She would have nailed wallpaper up, but that would have looked like she put too much effort into it.
Now you've got me curious . . . Reverse for both of yours?
no subject
Cesare Man, I drew so many sketches of his room in Spanish last semester... Basically he came to camp with a couple chests of things--clothes, books, wine, etc. He lives at the Canadian consulate, I think in one of the rooms that is technically a double. One way or another he keeps it very neat, with all of his personal belongings put away in the chests or closet. He's rearranged it so that his bed is facing the door because he is not comfortable keeping it sideways and underneath the windows. Somuchparanoia. There are several books checked out from the library and his laptop on either the bedside table or his bed itself. If one was to check the drawer on the bedside table one would notice the note left in there (and fairly frequently switched out) for his tiny!self with instructions on how to behave if he appears in Camp.
What is the biggest danger either of your characters have had to face?
no subject
Tiffany's life has been full of excitement since she was nine. So far, she was in danger of dying in a dream in Fairyland or losing to the Fairy Queen, in danger of losing her mind and body to Hiver, and most recently in danger of getting possessed by the Cunning Man or getting persecuted as a witch. The Wintersmith wasn't threatening her directly, but he was bringing about eternal winter to the world, so he was a pretty big danger too.
Cindy's life is danger. Even right this moment in canon. But she's pretty hard to kill. Her most vulnerable moment was probably when she was a princess running for the Last Castle after the Adversary's armies invaded--and this was just one part of an invasion force that conquered a hundred worlds. Princess was not badass back then and probably unable to defend herself effectively. The other side were not very nice to female prisoners so getting caught was not an option unless she was prepared to slit her own throat there and then.
What does Cesare think of Camp?
no subject
What was Prince Charming like?
no subject
He's Prince Charming--not Prince Loyal or Prince Monogamous. Meaning he will fall in love with a girl, make her fall for him and then cheat on her with the next girl he falls in love with. The cycle will repeat itself endlessly and only those who have been jilted by him are immune to his charms.
It's a condition or something--he has canonically had over 1500 conquests before his 15th birthday. As all his wives and conquests will attest--he's damn good in the sack. What his wives can't forgive him for is getting married despite knowing that he's the least monogamous person in the universe. Because whoever he marries becomes the princess who will be stuck with a cheating douche.
By the time the Adversary's forces invade, Cinderella and Charming's marriage is on the rocks but they're putting on a facade for the public even while on the run. This was Charming's lowest point because he used his married status to get on the last boat of the Homelands. Cindy made him promise to divorce her the moment they got to the new world and leave the North American continent immediately after that.
Which he did for around 200 years before coming back to sponge off wife #1 and #2 for a while. Then he exercises some cunning to get rich and tries to be a politician. Like his conquests, he gets the vote because of his charisma and becomes Fabletown's Mayor. As usual, disillusionment sets in and he switches portfolios before the big strike against the Adversary. He's much better as a military commander and before any disillusionment can set in, he does something fantastically heroic.
So Prince Charming came a full circle from the ideal prince to a debauched playboy, a schemer and redeemed hero.
Canon/Headcanon for Cesare and Nowaki's relationship histories?
no subject
Nowaki was pretty obviously used to the whole gay thing before he first hooked up with Hiro, to the point that he was very clear that what he wanted was a long term relationship in spite of the fact that he was still a teenager at the time. I would love it if canon went into his backstory more and sadly his one flashback is pre-hormones so it's not helpful for this question. I imagine he must have dated at least to an extent before Hiro, although it was nothing as intense and didn't last all that long. Knowing canon (and seeing in canon how comfortable he was already) he probably had sex with at least one other man prior to Hiro. He started working after middle school, so there're a few years in there for him to continue canon's pattern of "cute young man dating sexy older man". :|b;; After being with Hiro for a while he went to America for a year, was totally celibate, came back to Japan, and now they might as well be married. He's trying to get Hiro to let him meet his parents.
Cesare is still sixteen, so even though, yes, different time period and different expectations etc etc, this is all still relatively new to him. Untranslated canon apparently makes it very clear that he has some sexual experience (I. I believe they get a hooker at one point.) but also that girls are still shiny and new~~ Headcanon is that, well, logically, he's a Borgia. And one old enough to be invited to the grown-up parties. During which his father is all over his one of the young in-laws not to mention the dancing girls--his idea of a healthy relationship is somewhat skewed, as Cindy might have picked up on. I imagine his first experience was with a girl about his age and rank either at one of these parties or just with one of the girls who worked in the house. At sixteen he really looks noticeably older than even at fifteen, so I'd guess this all took place within the last year and a half or so.
What sorts of jobs does Cindy do?

What does Cindy not do?
Off the top of my head . . . ambassador, mission scout, undercover agent, diplomatic liaison, assassin, retriever of missing Fables who might be in trouble, double agent, honey-trap agent, homicide investigator, the one that the Fables send out to handle situations that compromise secrecy . . .
And I can't think of another question because I have to dash off to work now.

On the one hand Cesare really does not take well to being yelled at, especially by someone he doesn't know. On the other hand, he didn't mean to make him pass out or see that memory and it's coming close enough on the heels of the Higurashi event that if he had been in a better mood he would have recognized feeling guilty about that. As it was, he did not like that it happened but was not quite able to blame Kaza for it. He'll even ignore the fact that their first meeting was so >( if Kaza reads (or skims for the important parts, really) that book he found for him. Cesare's willing to focus on the Bigger Problem of Kaza seeing that memory and not understanding what was so bad in it and to skip over that whole general dislike of his having done that in the first place.
For the most part, at least. He won't grab Kaza like that again, that's for sure. Expect violence with inanimate objects if violence is needed. So on the whole Kaza is slotted down as an annoyance, but this is partially because Cesare feels bad about that whole fainting bit and therefore would be easy enough to change. He understood that Kaza was just displacing his own frustration onto him, which, while not appreciated, also means that he will look past that if they talk under better circumstances.

It's coming. SHORT FORM BEFORE I HAVE TO RUN fuck you worming your way into a chink of his heart, fuck you twice for Camp breaking this trust after it formed. This is somehow Shaun's fault. At least more than it is Cesare's. Except when he's in private when it's all his own fault, sob.
Also he's more nervous now that he's going to go crazy like AC Cesare. What wonderful new concerns to add to the rest of the pile! \o/
Headcanon me something about Zhores and Cesare at the library so I have something to look forward to reading this afternoon.
no subject
Zhores is kind of a dick, but this really only applies to things like Cesare triggering his dickishness, like acting like Work is something that's optional (because well. Cesare is still an Aristocrat, and so OF COURSE he's going to shirk his duties /Zhores' mindset). The fact that Cesare tries to weasel his way out of things is really like setting a injured mouse in front of a cat, it never ends well. It does two things, 1) makes him seem like less of an innocent, and thus fair game, and 2) activates that drive in Zhores to dominate and control and make people beg for mercy. There's nobody he loves messing with more than people who think they can't be taken down about five notches. When Cesare's doing a thing or trying to get out of work, Zhores will be on his ass all the time, using whatever means possible to drag his ass back into place. (and enjoying the hell out of it.)
When that, for a lack of better word, prey drive isn't being twigged he's actually a reasonable boss, more than quite willing to have a chat or to take on more work if something comes up. Cesare will also pick up that he more or less shows three sides. The first is a polite and helpful side that he mainly shows to guests (or if Cesare remembers, when they first talked about religion), the second is a bit more casual and honest, but he still handles situations with a general coldness and detachment. The third he only really showed during the thread with Shaun, a Unsafe smiling, downright manipulative, and completely sadistic personality. The thing is that he lies like Cesare does, IE all the time and by using the truth, the only difference is that he's been at it longer. All of that is part of him, but really only people who know him better get to see how it works.
So yes, expect him to take Cesare to task whenever he's been a brat or slacked off, be polite with the guests, all too glad to talk and be moderately friendly when Cesare hasn't been a douche (though never revealing anything about his family), and adorable and topped by kids during reading circle. Also sometimes Rika comes in and he takes his lunch break to go and talk with her outside the library, because he's honest and himself around her and he figures leaving that a mystery must annoy the piss out of an infohound like Cesare.
no subject
1) How much would Cesare keyboardmash if Shaun magically found the words to correctly explain his feelings about recent developments?
2) How much is Cesare mentally stabbing Zhores at any given time?
no subject
And haha it depends. :|b When Zhores is actually being helpful, no stabbings. When Zhores is being polite, occasionally stabbings. When Zhores is being a dick, many imaginary stabbings except for when, no, that's totally exactly what he should have done/said/etc gdi self. In which case, there might still be stabbings if he's angry enough but one way or another there is definite note taking.
Why is one of your a Good Influence and the other a Horrible Influence?
So Shaun gets to write a letter explaining Malik and Cesare to his group. HAS TO JUST HANDWAVE "LOOK, THIS WILL SOUND LIKE I'M HIGH, SO LET'S JUST SKIP OVER THE PART WHERE I'M TRAPPED IN AN UNDEAD SUMMER CAMP, OKAY?" EVERYTHING ELSE. CAN ONLY TALK ABOUT THEM. How does he talk about them?
no subject
With malik there's a shitton of frustration, but in the end it boils down to "he's an ass but he's good at what he does and I respect him". Shaun's always on the edge of being fond of Malik, until the bastard goes and does SOMETHING to set him off.
WITH CESARE THERE IS A LOT OF FRUSTRATION TOO, and the letter might as well have been made from whiteout considering how many times he redoes the damn thing. In the end he can't explain what he lokes/hates about cesare without revealing his secrets, so he summs it up as that he's a little brat that has promise.
Question! So cesare makes the
dumbfamilial loyalty move and goes with the templars, how would he deal with the result? Either in a "shaun gets killed by the templars" one or one where Shaun lives (and possibly just gets captured and interrogated by them)no subject
If Shaun could get three answers (straight, truthfully) from Cesare?
no subject
Now either answer those orrrr "how likely would cesare stab a hastings if his sister flirted with him"? (Ac, not the manga)
no subject
1) Cesare is very rational most of the time. The benefits of siding with the Assassins would simply have to outweigh the benefits of siding with the Templars.
2) Hahahahaha
3) I'm really not sure, tbh. Someone would have to play him when they didn't need to and he'd have to catch on and get them back and then someone he trusts would really have to do some handholding on the explanation of how what just happened could have been done much better without manipulation. Very complicated! There is probably an easier way. One way or another he would have to get topped into understanding.
And it depends! Why is she flirting with him? To manipulate him? Or because she thinks Shaun is cute? :| Guess which one of these is more acceptable! Again, it's a power thing, though. So... yeah. The more passive/resistant Shaun is in this, the safer.
Magically~ Shaun gets to visit Cesare's Pisa. What does he think of everyone?

More than liking, Cesare respects Tony. He's clearly skilled in various fields that Cesare knows nothing about and he respects that. He also... he feels very guilty still about getting Tony involved in that mess with Shaun because apart from that not being the sort of thing that should happen, he should not have had to get anyone else involved. He prefers to keep things (especially mistakes like that) private and the fact that he really did need Tony to break them up still grates on him. While he appreciates how Tony took his apology, he feels the need to really do some work on this relationship, reinforce the fact that that was Camp acting through him and not his own special brand of crazy. Cesare, now that he's done putting his tail between his legs, will make an effort to talk to Tony more and try to counterbalance any negative impression the event left.
To be honest, Cesare was just toying with Fenris at first. Nothing personal, just to mess with Shaun and because the reactions he was getting out of both of them (well, and Hawke) were so great. He'll play nice now, though, because he does want to have a good relationship with both Fenris and Hawke since he can see their potential use for the future. To that end, he really will not press Fenris into talking about anything he does not want to and he will make an effort to respect boundaries, especially around Hawke. Well, the mistletoe post doesn't really count. He can't do anything about that. Really.
Reverse me?
no subject
Fenris was irritated with Cesare at first, but Shaun's comment to him about Cesare's pride reminded Fenris of himself, and he settled down a lot. His assistance in the library was unexpected and appreciated; Fenris' difficulty with reading a very sore point for him, and Cesare just opened that door for him in his native language. Fenris is not accustomed to being treated as though he has value as a person by anyone but Hawke and co.; he's vulnerable to it. If Cesare can keep on that path, Fenris will mostly likely come to like him.
