IC: Boar Hunting

*Camp's a farm, right? And you know what farms have? Pigs.

The ones in Camp are a little... different from the cute, not-by-the-hair-on-my-chinney-chin-chin ones some of you might be more familiar with, however...

One way or another, it's clearly the time for a boar hunt. Clearly. And somewhere away from the center of Camp are two people on horses looking to do just that.*

[snorts] I see no reason. I have faced powerful abominations and mages, the assembled might of Kirkwall's Templars, even a high dragon. The day I cannot manage a simple beast . . .

So we're just going to finish him off ourselves? i can think of at least one of those two who'd be disappointed.

[fistingthing]

They insisted upon splitting up.

[Someone is, perhaps, just a touch bitter about this.]

...Fenris, Cesare's just like that. He's probably more interested in annoying us than starting anything serious. Besides she seems like a strong sort, I'm sure she'll promptly turn him down if he tries anything, it'll crush his ego nicely.

At least for a few minutes.

I know she would reject him. I don't need you to tell me that. I am accustomed her her habits. She encourages others to punish me, but she would never carry through.

That does not keep it from stinging.

No, and it doesn't teach him not to do it in the first place, so if you want to have a go at him, I don't think it's the worst idea. Just don't hurt him, will you?

[fistingthing]

I am not very accustomed to not hurting people.

... Does that trick of yours hurt them?

[fistingthing]

I can reach into a body and touch the organs inside, crush them, tear them out, stir a person's brains, and withdraw again without leaving visible marks.

Though the last tends to cause a lot of bleeding from the nose.

....Right, don't do that to him.

[fistingthing]

That doesn't sound like much fun.

There's "teaching him a lesson" and then there's torture. I'm not going to let that happen.

[sighs] I'm aware, Shaun. I wouldn't hurt him for this. I save my bloodthirst for slavers, abominations, and maleficarum. I am not a monster, despite how I realize I must seem.

[sharpasafawkes]

Oh come off it, you don't look or act like a monster.

[fistingthing]

No? Many would disagree with you. My appearance is generally considered intimidating, and while I don't take anything the abomination says to heart, he is not the only one to compare me to a wild beast.

Now that's a loaded phrase, "abomination", really?

It is what he is. He allowed a demon to possess him. [Fenris' hackles rise with that cold statement.]

Yes and? You know what this place can do to you, yeah? If something got ahold of you and made you do something, should I blame you, or camp?

Now if he's a tosser on his own, that's another matter.

[fistingthing]

It is as I said: he allowed a demon to possess him. He invited it in. What it does, he is a willing accomplice to.

[sharpasafawkes]

If he knew all the fine print, then it's on him, but if he didn't know all of it then there's a little room for forgiveness. After all, people get into messes without knowing the full scope of it all the time. The problem is I don't know all the details, and I'm not going to make any judgments about just how guilty he is without meeting him. You've got a right to what you feel, but I can't use it as an unbiased source.

[nudging the horse to go into a quick trot, suddenly paying attention to the massive disturbance in the brush]

[fistingthing]

[Rather than replying, Fenris simply snarls, a low, angry sound; whoever this guy is, there's clearly no love lost there. He lopes beside the horse, sparks of power flickering through the markings as he braces for conflict.]

[Are you sure you shouldn't be a sulky cat right now? However he's keeping an eye out for anything else]

We should flush him out into the open, safer for both of us, and I don't have to put up with Cesare being cross at me later.

[fistingthing]

[Void, no, the abomination likes cats.]

As you say. He must be fearsome when he's cross.

[Yes. Yes, Fenris is mocking you.]

[Sigh] you'd be suprised what he can do when he's in a mood.
