Camp AU Event

[Very late in the week of the AU event, (college!)Cesare has gone in search of (future!)Alvis. Some of the novelty of this strange zombie summer camp has worn off but he remembers her vanship and just how exhilarating that was. Besides, she is company who isn't a) his actual professor or b) his not actual(?) brother. It's a nice clear day. A day for adventure.]

Alvis! You don't have plans, do you? [hope you are okay with this kid confidently inserting himself into them]

[Glances over at him]

No... Have you?

One of my professors arrived with me. [and frowns] And I met someone here who seems to be my brother, but it's... It's not right.

Not right? What do you mean? And is this the time-travel professor or maybe one of your political science instructors?

[maleborgia]

Yes, he's the conspiracy nut. Actually, he teaches history. But I'm not sure how to explain it. Here. [taking his phone out of his pocket and opening up his photos, scrolling until he finds a decent picture of Juan back in his world sitting next to him on the sofa. He zooms in on the face--he's a year or so younger than him, blonde, and with a faint entitled air in his posture and expression.] This is my next youngest brother.

[Oooo instantly hovering over this fantastic piece of technology again. She watches him go through photos and then zoom, taking it all in]

The one who is here but "not right"?

[maleborgia]

[nods] This is him back home. The two of us were playing with a game he had gotten as a present. But this... [a pause, please, while he finds a much more recent picture of Juan from Camp. Unlike the other one it was clearly taken without permission and he doesn't seem aware of the camera]

He doesn't look like him, and he's older, but somehow I know he is the same.

[...He doesn't look like him, he's not the same age, but yet he's the same... Trying to cover her skepticism the best she can.]

There have been some events during our stay beyond any explanation I could hope to give.

I know it sounds crazy. But so much of this is sheer madness.

You're right -- I'm sorry. You can't apply any kind of logic that I've seen. If we can be plucked or pushed right out of our worlds and into this one then anything must be possible, right?

[maleborgia]

I don't blame you for being skeptical--it gives me a headache just trying to wrap my mind around it. The best explanation I can give is that this is the longest and strangest dream I have been trapped in.

[Perking up!]

Oh--! But that's an excellent thought!

[maleborgia]

It hasn't been an entirely horrible dream. I have to admit that I have enjoyed parts of it.

[keytoexilellence]

Mmn! And we can make anything out of it that we'd like!

[maleborgia]

Hm, I suppose you are right.

And what do you want to make out of it?

[keytoexilellence]

As long as it's a good dream, I'm not too concerned. It can happen as it will.

[maleborgia]

[arms folded but he nudges her] Be more specific than that. Perhaps you need to vocalize it to make it so. As for me, I did enjoy the library once I took a better look around, but it cannot hold a candle next to that flight. You should become a stunt pilot if you ever get tired of diplomacy.

[Laughing lightly]

A stunt pilot? What do they do? ...And don't just say stunts.

[maleborgia]

All kinds of things... They put on shows for people and fly either solo or in a group with a set routine, getting close to the ground or other obstacles, doing flips and loops, or crossing one another's path. [motioning with his hands to act this all out]

People are too used to it in my world though. My flying isn't terribly special -- there are competitions every year for that.

[maleborgia]

Not special? I can't believe it. I've never seen anything like it before.

[keytoexilellence]

And I've never seen anything like that device you have. Can you play music again?

[maleborgia]

Of course. [he takes his phone out, no headphones this time, so when he hits play this comes straight from the speakers]

[Delighted and she claps along as they go]

The other song was in this language too -- it's your country's?

[maleborgia]

[shakes his head] This is Spanish. My first language is Italian, but my father is from Spain and he spoke it with us.

Ahhhh! How lucky!
